Story of the Tree Inhabited by Satan & Worshiped by People
The jealous monk heard about the story of the tree inhabited by Satan & worshiped by people, and he was driven by sacred lust and decided to go and fight this devil.
Dialogue Between the Monk and the Devil
Satan said to him: Why do you want to cut down this tree?
The monk said: How can I let you mislead people and keep them away from worshiping the true God?
Satan said: What does it matter to you as long as you do not worship this tree?
The monk said: It is my duty to save people from you and people like you.
Here a battle took place between the monk and the devil. So the monk managed it an hour later!
The devil shouted, ‘Leave me, while I put a gold dinar under your pillow every morning.’! The monk retreated and liked the idea. He agreed and the days passed. Until that day, the monk raised his pillow and found nothing, so he became enraged and took his ax and went to cut down the tree. Story of the Tree.
Satan intercepted him and wrestled. But this time, the devil overpowered the monk and grabbed him by the neck. The monk wondered why he did not win this time?! Satan said sarcastically: Last time you were fighting for God, but now you are fighting for yourself, and there is no difference between the two wars.
God’s Weapon
Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore, take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.’ (Ephesians: 6: 11-16)
Summary
My dear brother, we must always fight with the full weapon of God, raising the banner of the Holy Cross, putting on the shield of faith, and trusting in God’s love and justice. Then we will have a permanent victory.
But if we rely on our strength without involving the Lord in our wars, we will certainly be among the losers, and Satan will triumph over us. So let the Lord always fight for you in all the battles of Satan against you, and be sure that you will be one of the victors.
